Preview Yahoo! Messenger Alert Sounds in Windows 7

Yahoo! Messenger offers several features which users can configure to customize the ambience of the chat application to best meet their requirements. Because of its versatile nature Yahoo! Messenger is completely customizable. Some technical knowledge about the application is still required though. Users can go through Help options which are available in Yahoo! Messenger and can learn the benefits that they can avail by using the application in the customized form. Along with many other features Yahoo! Messenger also allows users to preview the sounds before they can be set as default notification alerts. Previewing sounds before setting them as defaults saves a lot of time which otherwise users may spend in order to test every sound before finalizing any one of them. As a Windows 7 user who uses Yahoo! Messenger if you want to preview sound alerts before modifying or setting them as default you are required to follow the steps given below:

1. Logon to Yahoo! Messenger by providing appropriate credentials in the available interface.

2. Click on Messenger menu and then click on Preferences.

3. Click on Alerts & Sounds from the left pane and from the right pane under Alert me whensection click on any option for which you want to preview the sound alert.

   

4. Once clicked under Alert be by section click on the triangle button that represents Play symbol to preview sound.

5. Close the opened box once you are finished.
