Change Yahoo! Messenger Call Alert Sound in Windows 7

With regular advancements in Yahoo! Messenger chat application alert sounds to notify users about every activity are also modified by the developers and are made even more sophisticated and soothing to hear. However these notification sounds can be customized by the users as per their choices and they can even import their own audio files so that they can hear the sounds of their choices whenever any notifications occur. Audio files which are imported by the users should have .WAV extension only though. This is because Yahoo! Messenger supports only this file format. This section will focus on changing the default notification alert sound for any incoming video or voice call in Yahoo! Messenger. There are few other notification sound options and users can choose any of the default options available. As a Yahoo! Messenger user in Windows 7 if you want to do so you are required to follow the steps given below:

1. Logon to Yahoo! Messenger by providing appropriate credentials in the interface.

2. Click on Messenger menu and then click on Preferences option from the available list.

3. From the opened box from the left pane click on Alerts & Sounds category to select it.

4. From the right pane under Alert me when section choose I receive an incoming video or voice calloption to select.

   

5. From the list of available sound alerts under Alert me by section choose the desired alert sound and then click on Set Default button.

6. Click on Ok button to save the changes.
