Change Display Name of Facebook Account

Unlike any other social networking site Facebook allows users to change their display names so that they can change their identities if required. Although this configuration is never required by an authentic user during the entire lifetime of his account however in many cases where security becomes a concern users can use this feature to hide their real identities and portray the fake ones for illegal purposes. This feature is also quite beneficial for the organizations who because of any reason want to change their names. There are certain restrictions and limitations while renaming the display name of Facebook account and also you can rename your account only for limited number of times. As a Facebook account holder if you want to rename your display name you can follow the steps given below:

1. Logon to your Facebook account using appropriate credentials.

2. From the top right corner of the main page click on downward facing triangle.

3. From the available list of options click on Account Settings.

4. On the opened page make sure that you are on General option from the left pane.

5. From the right section of the page click on Name.

   

6. Populate First and Last fields with your first and last name populate Password field with the appropriate password and finally click on Save Changes button to rename your account.
