Associate IM Screen Names to Facebook Account

Since network of Facebook is now expanded to several other domains and chat messengers people can associate their screen names from those messengers with their Facebook accounts. For example if a Facebook account holder has Yahoo! account which he uses for Yahoo! Messenger he can associate his screen name from Yahoo! Messenger with Facebook account so that users can contact him if they want to locate the account holder. This feature also allows other users to uniquely identify a particular Facebook account holder even if the account holder has used a very common name for example John Smith. As a Facebook account holder if you want to associate an IM screen name from any other chat messenger or domain you can follow the steps given below:

1. Provide appropriate credentials to Facebook website to logon to your account.

2. Click on the link displaying your name from the top left corner of the main page.

3. On the opened page click on Edit Profile button available at the top right corner.

4. On the new page click on Contact Information from the left section.

5. From the right section of the page populate IM Screen Namesfield with desired information and choose the desired domain from the available drop-down list associated with the field.

   

6. Finally click on Save Changes to conform the changes.
